英语单词四胞胎：sometimes sometime some times some time

sometimes、 sometime、 some times 、some time 这四个词算是形近词，外形接近，但含义不同，用法自然不一样：

1. sometimes

意思是“有时候”，属于频率副词，说到频率副词，就要和always，often，seldom 归为一类。频率副词一般用于表达“平时”，就是你们老师说的“一般现在时”，但一般过去时照样也会出现。比如：

Sometimes I walk to school. 有时候我走着去上学。

I sometimes go to school by bus. 我有时候坐公交去上学。

I take a taxi to school sometimes. 我有时候大地去上学。

从以上三个例句可以看出 sometimes 在句中的位置相当的灵活，可以句首，可以句末，还可以在主语之后。再看一个一般过去时的例子：

When I was fifteen, I sometimes go to South America myself.

十五岁那年，有时候我独自去南美洲。

2. sometime

某个时候，这个时间不确定，而且出现在将来，所以 sometime 常常用在将来时。用到这个词的时候，表示主句动作发生的可能性不确定，至少是发生的时间不确定。

I will come again sometime next week. 我下周某个时间还会再来。

I may call him sometime tomorrow. 我或许明天某个时间给他打电话。

3. some times

times 加 s 了，说明可数---表示次数。所以 some times 意思是“好几次”，表示动作的重复次数。这个短语中的 time 表示次数，这样和另外的三个短语只能算是“表亲”吧，因为常用的表示“几次”的短语很多如：several times，还有加上具体数字的次数：two times，five times 这些都很多见。

I had been to Paris some times, but I still could not tell the right directions.

我已经去过巴黎好几次了，课依然无法辨明东南西北。

4. some time

表示一段时间，一些时间。表示时间段，因为用的是 some，这个时间段的长度不确定，可长可短。如：

You will have to wait for some time.

你讲不得不再等些时候。
