昆明美联讲解专有名词前冠词的用法

　　1．除了某些特殊情况，专有名词般不加冠词，
　　Mr．Brown，Vice—Director Liu，Germany，Paris，Southeast Asia，Ancient Greece，New England，July，Monday，English
　　2．在不少情况下专有名词前要加定冠词，如：
　　1)江河海洋的名称：
　　the Yellow River黄河，
　　the East China Sea东海，
　　the Pacific Ocean太平洋，
　　the Arctic北冰洋。
　　2)山脉群岛，海湾海峡的名称：
　　the Alps阿尔卑斯山，The Rocky Mountains洛矶山脉，
　　the Philippines菲律宾群岛，the Taiwan Straits台湾海峡，
　　the Persian Gulf波斯湾
　　但单山独岛名称前不加冠词：
　　Mount Emei峨嵋山，Christian Island圣诞岛
　　3)某些国名、组织机构等名称：
　　the People's Republic of China中华人民共和国，
　　the United Kingdom联合王国，the United Nations联合国，
　　the Ministry of Education教育部，the State Council，
　　the State Department美国，
　　the House of Commons美国下议院
　　(但：Congress美国国会，Parliament英国国会)
　　4)某些建筑物：
　　the National Gallery美术馆，
　　the Military Museum军事博物馆，the Capital Theater首都剧场
　　the Peace Hotel和平饭店，the Pentagon五角大楼，
　　the White House白宫
　　5)报纸、会议、条约等的名称：
　　the Washington Post华盛顿邮报，the Daily Mail每日邮报，
　　The Times泰晤士报，the New York Times纽约时报，
　　the Geneva Conference日内瓦会议，
　　the North Atlantic Pact北大西洋公约
　　但有些专有名词前多不加冠词，如街名，广场名
　　Fleet Street舰队街，Riverside Avenue滨河大道
　　大学名，节日名，杂志名
　　Times Square时代广场，Oxford University牛津大学
　　Christmas，圣诞节，May Day五一节
