　　考研英语中翻译这一部分的分值虽然不是较大的，但是同学们往往抓不到这些分，在复习的过程中更是无从下手，尤其是遇到从句，今天小编就给大家来说说关于考研英语翻译名词性从句~

　　例1：Galileo’s greatest glory was that in 1609 he was the first person to turn the newly invented telescope on the heavens to prove that the planets revolve around the sun rather than around the Earth。 （1994， 74）

　　[长难句分析]这句话的主干是Galileo’s greatest glory was that…，其中that引导表语从句。在表语从句中又出现一个that引导的从句“that the planets revolve around…”，这个that引导的是什么从句呢？仔细观察，会发现，这个that引导的是宾语从句，做不定式to prove的宾语。通过分析，我们得出这个长难句中有两个名词性从句，分别是表语从句和宾语从句。我们在翻译中遇到表语从句和宾语从句时，可采用顺译法，按照“主-系-表（主-谓-宾）”的顺序翻译。

　　[译文]伽里略较光辉的业绩是他在1609年个把新发明的望远镜对准天空，以证实行星是围绕太阳旋转，而不是围绕地球。

　　例2：Furthermore， it is obvious that the strength of a country’s economy is directly bound up with the efficiency of its agriculture and industry， and that this in turn rests upon the efforts of scientists and technologists of all kinds。（2000，72）

　　[长难句分析]这句话的主干是it is obvious that…， and that…。。其中代词it是形式主语，真正的主语是两个由that引导的主语从句。对于代词it做形式主语的主语从句，我们翻译的时候，大多采用固定译法，这里的it is obvious that…，我们一般翻译为“显而易见的是…”或“很明显…”。

　　[译文]再者，显而易见的是一个的经济实力与其工农业生产效率密切相关，而效率的提高则又有赖于各种科技人员的努力。

　　例3：There is no agreement whether methodology refers to the concepts peculiar to historical work in general or to the research techniques appropriate to the various branches of historical inquiry。

　　[长难句分析]这句话的主干是There is no agreement。其后whether引导的是同位语从句，补充说明agreement的内容。在这个同位语从句中，peculiar to…。和appropriate to…是形容词做后置定语，分别修饰concepts和techniques。我们翻译较长的同位语从句时，一般将其译为独立的句子。

　　[译文]所谓方法论是指一般的历史研究中的特有概念，还是指历史探究中各个具体领域适用的研究手段，人们对此意见不一。
